hiatus, and a garage sale

This is one of the reasons why I've been on hiatus the past few weeks:

I hope to meet a lot of new people there who share my love for scrapbooking, crafting and paper products... and I hope to be able to move some of my stuff too... space is starting to be a problem hereabouts :)

Another reason is my sister's upcoming wedding! Yet another reason is work, but I don't want to talk about that on this blog.

See you on November 19!

smile with yellow flowers

Here's a yellow card based on this inspiration pic from Lil Red Wagon:

It just so happened that Sentimental Sundays also had their Challenge #79 - Birth Flowers and mine is Marigold. Here is a card inspired by this.

Patterned papers from K&Co. Paper flowers and flower clip from AAS. Bling from National Bookstore's crafts section.

The sketch is from CPS #242.

This is also entered for 365 Cards' Day 239 - Celebrating the Everyday.

one of a kind

I love the flocking for the sentiment, which is a result of this We R Memory Keepers set I got on sale (should be the subject of a different post). All papers from DCWV. Ribbon from AAS.

The challenge for 365 Cards' Day 234 - Opposite Day was First think about how you would describe yourself - all the different aspects of your personality. Second, use that description to create a card that is the OPPOSITE of how you would describe yourself. I describe myself as simple, transparent, no-frills with a streak of darkness in my soul (!). This card seems show quite the opposite of those traits--frilly, layered, bright. And seriously pink.

Here's the flocking up close:

I got the sketch from The Sweet Stop, as well as the theme, "pink":

Looking at that close-up pick of the flocking, I really need, er, want to buy a new camera. I'm done with DSLRs for now--too bulky and expensive to maintain. I'm deciding between the Lumix LX-3, Lumix LX-5, Canon S95 or Canon S100. What do you think?

sorry in black and red

I've never had to make a card to say "sorry" before. Well, there's a first time for everything, but I hope I never have to use this. Hee. This is for Cute Card Thursday's Challenge 187 - Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word! For the design, I incorporated the challenges from 365 Cards' Day 231 - Staple It, Fussy and Fancy Challenge Says "3 B's!" (Black, Border Punch and Bling), and PaperPlay Challenges '11 - Week 42 - Use Black:

Black glittery cardstock from Prestige Paper. Silver paper from Star Paper. Ribbon from Wendy (a Divisora staple). Bling from Mark Richards. Staples are from the stapler in the house, hehe. Border punch from EK Success, flourish was cut using MM Slice.

Here is the stapled-ribbon embellishment and the bling up close.

enjoy the dots

365 Cards challenged us to see spots (Day 235 - Seeing Spots). Here's my take on the challenge, it was fun being able to find coordinating papers in my stash.

All papers from DCWV. Stamp by Kimberley Poloson for Fiskars.

The sketch is CPS's Sketch #241:

Also entered for Anything Goes' Challenge 52 - To the Letter. The lettering is done with my handy MM Slice.

happy halloween

I tried my hand at making a Halloween card. This is going to go to Agnes, who has a Halloween birthday.

Black glittery cardstock from Prestige Paper, orange paper from Star Paper, white cardstock from Rouge de Garance, hand-colored twine from Cannon crochet thread. The Jack O'Lantern is a free digistamp from about.com, while the font used is Buffied.

365 cards spotlight designer

It's way cool that I was selected as one of 365 Cards' Spotlight Designers for last week, considering that I crammed these in Sunday night and Monday night (while recuperating from a 75-hour work week which seemed to cause fever and headache).

Best of all, my friend Wifey Cookie's card is there right beside mine!

home-made baker's twine

I tried to make handmade baker's twine in line with 365 Cards' Day 227 - Fun With Floss:

Patterned papers are from DCWV, while the blue metallic paper is from Star Paper.

A closer look at my DIY baker's twine. This is made with Cannon crochet thread and blue marker.

What do you think?

Also entered for Lollipop Crafts' Challenge #53 -- No sentiments allowed.

sophisticated wedding

The challenge at 365 Cards' Day 229 - So Sophisticated was to make a "sophisticated" card. This is a wedding card for my sister.

I used some pretty papers from Rouge de Garance. "Emerald" brads were from Memory Lane (a generic package, I don't know the brand). The pearl heart buckle was from a bunch I got from an outlet store. Die-cut of course was done with my MM Slice.

pink bulb

365 Cards' Day 226 - Ad Inspired challenge involved getting inspired by this:

Here's my take on it:

The die-cut (from my MM Slice) reminds me of the pink pumpkins and the colors are there as well. I love the pink patterned paper from DCWV.

I based the sketch on The Sweetest Thing's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 139--I turned it on its side:

autumn love

This card is for our mailing list card exchange, the topic being weddings and marriage. My "penpal" had a yellow and champagne motif for her wedding years back so I decided to use these colors. This is for 365 Cards' Day 218 - Beautiful Bouquet, it does seem like I went all out with the flowers, eh?

Patterned papers from K&Co., love stamp from Inkadinkadoo. I used punches from Carl and my MM Slice to create the flowers from assorted scrap papers/cardstock.

rustic

I did this for 365 Cards' Day 220 - Imagine This: Rustic just because I was challenged... I wanted to see what I could come up with. Lo and behold, I found a really old patterned paper with a wooden design, and with a swirl/knob yet.

Patterned paper from AAS, twine from Papemelroti (about as rustic as you can get at the mall, eh).

Also entered for Craft Your Passion Challenge 79 - All Occasion Card.

sweet bears

Used this cute image from an old patterned paper for a clean and simple card.

Bears are from an AAS patterned paper, letters patterned paper from DCWV Spring Stack, stamp is from Inkadinkadoo.

The sketch is from 365 Cards Day 216 - Super Sketchy Sunday, I extended it a bit.

another angelic christmas

Had fun making this based on the card recipe in 365 Cards' Day 210 - Card Recipe:

Patterned papers from Crafts Express from my old stash (circa 2006/2007). The ribbons are tied around a safety pin, oops, I didn't realize it wasn't visible in the picture.

I based it on The Sweetest Thing's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 137:

I'm also submitting this for Craft Your Passion's Challenge 79 - Anything Goes with Ribbon, and My Time to Craft's Challenge 159 - Musical Medley.

congratulations for ate jo-am

Here's a congratulations card for my cousin who just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. This is out of my comfort zone because I used glitter, I don't like using glitter because it's messy, hee! Entered for Sentimental Sundays' Challenge #74 - Step Out of Your Comfort Zone.

I've always loved blue and with the new addition to the family, I got to break out the cutesy baby blue patterned papers. Little dot PP from DCWV, big dot and striped PP from AAS, bling from Divisoria, glitter glue from Japan Home, lace from that notions store in SM Makati.

The sketch is from 365 Cards' Day 209 - Super Sketchy Sunday.

I'm also entering this in Papercraft Star's Challenge 64 - Lace. When I saw the ribbon lace in the notions store in SM Makati, I fell in love with it... got a yard each of blue, pink and beige. The beige looks the nicest, I can't wait to use it.

Entering this in PaperPlay Challenges Week 39 - White + One! as well.

lucky stars

An outer space theme, cool. Love the stars, so here this is, for 365 Cards' Day 204 - Outer Space, Masculine Style.

Stars patterned paper from AAS, ribbon from Carolina's. Used the MM Slice to make the silver stars.
The sketch is based on CPS 237.

sail away

What a challenge--365 Cards' Day 205 - Summer Vacation, Masculine Style. I have loads of summer stickers and stuff given by my friend Yen, but most were girly-girly. This is what I came up with:

I added another layer to the wavy patterned paper to have a 3D effect. What do you think?

L-O-V-E

The challenge was Day 206 - Love, Masculine Style. How to translate love into something masculine? I hope I did ok here:

Not sure why the letters ended up that way, the Slice was ok with 2" letters, but the 1" letters didn't turn out so well. So sad. Patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket and K&Co. Brad and cardstock from AAS. Ribbon from Carolina's.

This is based on a sketch from Card Patterns:

I'm also entering this in My Time to Craft's Challenge 158 - L is for... obviously!

teacher, teacher

This is for my teacher-friend who is celebrating his birthday. I thought that it was quite masculine... after all, masculine doesn't just mean earth colors or dark colors. What do you think about the maroon and yellow combination? This was just in time for 365 Cards' Day 203 - Back to School Masculine Style and coincidentally, Craft Us Crazy's Goodbye to Summer/School Theme.

Patterned paper from DCWV, maroon cardstock is one of my last treasures from the now-closed Papermart, brads from AAS.

I'm also entering this in Allsorts' Week 122 - Keep It Simple challenge.

the buzz is it's your birthday

Tried to make a bug-filled card to incorporate the words "The Buzz" for our office version of Boy Abunda. Sketch is from 365 Cards' Day 202 Super Sketchy Sunday. I'm also entering the little creatures in Papertake Weekly's Creature Comforts challenge.

Here's the original sketch from 365 Cards:

Patterned papers from DCWV. Cardstock from AAS. I added vellum on top of the background because the pattern was too vivid and busy.
